Gothenburg Retrospective

Where streets hold stories and buildings echo the past
— a timeless Scandinavian city print in black and white.

This artwork reflects the evolving bond between a city and its people, portraying them as parts of a single, living organism. Shaped by countless lives over time, the city becomes a vessel of collective memory—its structures infused with the traces of those who’ve passed through. Its long history isn’t just visible—it’s alive, breathing through every street, shadow, and rhythm.

Captured on a cold, overcast day in 2012 near Masthuggskyrkan in Gothenburg, Sweden, this cityscape photograph reflects a moody, timeless atmosphere. I edited the photo in black and white, using light, haze, shadow, and hight contrast to create a vintage urban aesthetic that echoes the past.

Gothenburg is my home—the place where I’ve grown, struggled, and found meaning. Most of my memories are rooted here, shaped by both solitude and beauty, comfort, anxiety, depression and happiness.
